There are various ways to add aluminum sulfate in drinking water treatment, with two common methods being static or dynamic addition. Static addition is the process of uniformly pouring a drinking water treatment grade aluminum sulfate solution into the water, and then stirring it thoroughly to make it evenly dispersed. Dynamic dosing is the continuous injection of drinking water grade aluminium sulphate solution into water through pumps and other equipment to ensure uniformity and stability of dosing.

The addition time of aluminium sulfate for drinking water is generally in the early stage of the water treatment process. After adding aluminum sulfate, the water should be thoroughly stirred to promote sufficient contact and mixing of drinking water grade aluminum sulfate with suspended solids, colloidal substances, and organic matter. Normally, the stirring time is 10-30 minutes, depending on the size and water quality of the water treatment system.
